Barry Bozz Music

The songs on this album were written mostly in the early ’70′s. They express the struggles and joys I experienced along my spiritual journey after I had returned to my faith in Jesus Christ. The urge to sing about my experience and the lessons I had learned seemed as natural as breathing, but were really, looking back now, the prompting of the Holy Spirit. At the time there was no “Christian music market” or, at least, none that I was aware of. So, when Rick Grande, my childhood friend, and I composed these songs there was no other purpose than to praise God in song and share that with family and friends. The music, therefore, reflected the influence of the music of that time and some of our favorite artists.

Having retired in 2010, I began playing in a local duo with Kevin Lang, an accomplished musician and producer. Then, after 35 years without contact, Rick found me through Facebook. That got me thinking of the old songs, and I played some for Kevin, who coined the term “Christian Retro ” to describe what he felt was a unique sound that harks back to the late 60′s-70′s, but was somehow new and fresh at the same time. We decided to make an album!

As you listen to the album, the one essential point we wanted to impart is that God is crazy-in-love with each one of us, incomprehensibly and wildly passionate in His desire for us to share in His life of joy and peace as He calls each of us to Him “In the Ocean of His Mercy”.
